PE Curriculum and Sport Premium

Sports Premium and PE Curriculum

(2014/15)

We have used our PE Sports Premium for staff training (Impact: More confident in teaching strands of the PE curriculum, professional coaching for children in the key skills, development of personal sporting engagement ie: attending after school sporting activities)

We have purchased sports coaches to provide professional coaching on key skills, provision of after school and lunch time sports clubs, support for the staff in teaching the PE curriculum.  (Impact: positive male role models, more children participating in PE during class time, more children participating in after school sporting activities, enthusiasm for sport linked to better behaviour/cooperation between the children)

The Chair of our Resources Committee and the Sports Coordinator identified different resources to support or enhance the PE curriculum and also used some of the funding to provide free transport for all children attending swimming lessons in the Spring terms.

We have gained a Sports England grant of £30,000 to enhance the PE provision and which as resulted in a refurbished playground which includes a climbing wall, goal posts, measuring boards, target boards and basketball hoops.
