This year, the May Fayre will be on FRIDAY 8th May - VE Day!

The May Fayre 2020

The May Fayre is a fantastic traditional event that has been organised by South Stoke Primary School for many years.  It is held in the historic setting of The Street, a part of the oldest road in Great Britain (the Ridgeway path) and amongst many beautiful properties dating from the 16th, 17th , 18th and 19th centuries as well as the 13th Century Church of St Andrew and the Victorian primary school.

The fayre is a thriving community event featuring stalls from local traders, fun activities for the children and a mini fun-fair.  There is a BBQ and licenced bar located at the school and attractions include the May Queen Procession, May Pole dancing and Morris dancers.  Entertainment is provided by the Goring and Streatley Concert Band and Saxcelerate (a saxophone octet).  We are also fortunate to have a thriving pub and the fun continues into the evening with a Tug o' War competition and live music at the Perch and Pike.  Each year the event attracts over 1000 visitors of all ages
